PICTURES OF ANIMALS, CHOICE OF SEX AND AGE

Pictures :

To keep operating costs as low as possible and thus provide our customers with attractive prices, we only keep very few animals on our own operating sites. In addition, due to the very large number of species offered for sale at Hobbyreptiles.com, it is difficult to have enough space and skilled labor to maintain and maintain such a large number of animals with dignity. For these reasons, most of the specimens we sell are kept either with the breeder or with the supplier until the day before they are taken over by the specialized transporter who will deliver our customers.

As such, we cannot provide photos, weight readings or accurate measurements of animals that we sell but do not maintain in our facilities. We do not know the character of the animal that will be delivered to you, nor its specific feeding habits. For breeders / suppliers, taking pictures, weighing, measuring,... is a major constraint in terms of time and organization. Moreover, if photos exist, they are not necessarily recent or of good quality. To avoid any controversy and preserve a certain image, we therefore do not distribute photos that are potentially outdated or of poor quality. Our advantageous prices imply an agreement with our suppliers: no photo will be requested in return for a priority of supply and attractive prices.

A customer wishing to benefit from the expertise and prices specific to Hobbyreptiles.com must imperatively accommodate this constraint.

The photos illustrating the article sheet show animals of the species indicated at various stages of their development. The age and sex of the animal ordered is not necessarily that of the animals in the photo: these are photos of illustrations, not photos of the animals which are in stock (at our suppliers) and which are for sale. The size, color, morphology, color mutation (phase),... of the animal that will be delivered to you may differ.

However, it happens that in some item sheets we display photos of the animal that is specifically for sale, such as for animals born and kept with us. This is then indicated on the photo via a unique reference number identifying the animal precisely.

Choice of gender and age:

As often as possible, we offer our customers the option of choosing the sex, age, size, etc. of the animal they wish to order. In this case, on the article sheet, just below the price and the stock status, drop-down lists are present. When you click on these lists, you see the various possibilities of choice appear. For example, the drop-down list for the “sex” characteristic will display: male, female, couple, unsexed,… By making a selection from a list, the price of the animal is automatically adjusted.

However, if no drop-down list is present for the criterion you are looking for (sex or age, for example) it means that Hobbyreptiles.com does not have the choice for these criteria either when ordering from suppliers / breeders .

In fact, if a customer wishes to acquire a male or female for an animal indicated "unsexed" or "unsexable", it will not be possible to respond to this request, even by insisting....

In the majority of cases, the animals available for sale are young a few weeks old, while many species of NACs are only sexable after several months or years. Moreover, as some of these animals can live in groups provided that only one male is present among several females, females become difficult to find while males are available in quantity. The result for these sexable animals is a very low price for males and a very high price for females, when available! For other species, the greater demand for one of the two sexes is rather justified from the point of view of the differences in color, longevity, character, size, etc. It should be noted that even for adults, sexing is sometimes impossible due to the very similar appearance of representatives of both sexes!

For all these reasons, some item sheets do not present any choice for a criterion sought by our potential customers. In this case, when ordering we advise to send us a message indicating the particular wish. As far as possible but WITHOUT COMMITMENT, our team will select the animals corresponding to the research indicated.
